WISMS Leadership Programme
Increasing multidisciplinary leadership in general, and clinical engagement in service improvement in particular, were identified as critical elements towards achievement of the WISMS project aims during the Diagnostic Interviews with 43 stakeholders during June 2007 and at the Stakeholder Workshop attended by over 50 people on 7 September 2007.
At the project review meeting on 27 September 2007, three streams of work were identified as essential to driving leadership capacity and competence during 2008. These are:
- Work stream 1: A Leadership Programme for WISMS
- Work stream 2: An individual Coaching and Mentoring programme
- Work stream 3: A Service User Leadership Development programme
Work stream 1; The WISMS Leadership Programme, will run in two phases:
- An Empowering Leadership Programme (ELP), running from December 2007 to April 2008
- A Strategic Leadership Programme (SLP), running from April to October 2008
The programme will be open to all who are interested in developing their leadership capabilities, and suggested criteria for entering the programme will be described later. Active participation in the ELP will be a pre-condition for taking part in the SLP.
